Committee of Management

Baxter Kindergarten and Children's Centre is proud of its unique operating model – being operated and managed by the community for the community through our dedicated volunteer Committee of Management.

Our volunteer management team comprises a group of committed and dedicated individuals who perform a range of functions to fulfil the responsibilities of being an Approved Provider of the service and who work collaboratively with our staff, local council and broader community to provide the best possible service for our children.

Our volunteer management team is responsible for holding service approval and ensuring that the centre operates in accordance with all relevant legislation and regulations. It provides strategic oversight of the operational management of the kindergarten - guiding and complimenting the work of the staff team. Our volunteer management team is also responsible for the financial viability of the service, employing and managing staff, communicating general news to families and the broader community (largely through our website, facebook page and newsletters), seeking grant/sponsorship opportunities, marketing of the service and running community building events. Fundraising is an important activity lead by our Committee of Management. Through our fundraising efforts, we are able to keep our fees low and ensure that we are able to purchase necessary resources and make capital improvements to our service – particularly to our outdoor spaces – which positively enhances the experiences of our children.
