Child Safety

Baxter Pre School Inc. is committed to ensuring the safety of all children including those with a disability. Baxter Pre School Inc. is committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, and of all children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

We have a zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently. We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are concerned about a child’s safety.

Baxter Pre School Inc. is committed to preventing child abuse and protecting children from harm. Child safety is imbedded in all our programs, policies and procedures. Our programs empower children to understand they have rights, encourage children to be independent, make decisions and contribute to the program. By making decisions, being respected and valued, our children understand that they have rights to make decisions about their body and their privacy.

We support, encourage and enable management, staff, families and children to understand, identify, discuss and report any matters that relate to child safety. The Approved Provider (Child Safety Officer) and our teachers, under mandatory reporting/child safety policy have specific responsibilities with respect to mandatory reporting and duty of care obligations.
