Baxter Kindergarten and Children's Centre (BKCC) offers 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs and an extended hours, multi-age program called Explorers. Please see our Program Timetable 2017 & 2018 for session times.

BKCC is a registered childcare provider, therefore rebates are available to eligible families. National Occasional Care (NOC) funding is also available for eligible families, whose child(ren) attend our Explorers program. For further information please contact Julie Trainer or call 5971 1868.

4 year old kindergarten program

This is a partially government-funded program for children in the year before they go to school. Children must turn 4 years of age, prior to the 30th April, in the year of enrolment to attend. The primary goal of this program includes building social confidence, school readiness, early literacy and numeracy skills and of course, having fun! Each child attends for 15 hours per week. Fee rebates may be available for eligible families. Please contact BKCC for more information.

3 year old kindergarten program

This program provides 3 year olds with an opportunity to attend kindergarten for 5 hours per week, in the year before 4 year old kindergarten. The primary focus of the 3 year old program is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for chldren to commence social and play-based learning. This program is not funded, unless a child is eligible for Early Start Kindergarten Funding (for children who are known to Child Protection or who are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander). Explorers Is an extended hours, multi age activity program for 3-6 year olds. Permanent enrolments are taken on a term-by-term basis. Casual enrolments can be accepted subject to availability. More information on the Explorer's Program is available here.
